Whether it worked

Every recommendation keeps its verdict, including the ones that did not help.

What a verdict compares

Once a change is live for readers, GrowthOps waits 28 days and compares the page with its own past: clicks per impression after the change against before, judged against what the page's position normally earns. Position and impressions may move — a title is a mild ranking signal — but that is not what is claimed, and any gain from it is subtracted before a change is called a success.

This is the simplest honest version: the same page, before and after, with a wide margin. No pages are held back as a control, so a seasonal shift or a Google update can confuse it. When a page is too quiet to tell, you are told it could not be told — not that nothing changed.

What GrowthOps never claims

  • That your page will rank higher. A better title changes whether people click a result, not where it sits.
  • That it ran a controlled experiment on your site. It compares a page with its own past.
